Partnership and Sponsorship Opportunities
First Atomic Ship Trust is building a broad coalition of supporters, partners, sponsors, advisors, and volunteers to help advance the preservation and public interpretation of the NS Savannah, America’s first nuclear-powered merchant ship.
FAST is being organized to support public education, historical research, preservation planning, and future interpretation of the vessel and its related machinery, records, artifacts, and technical history. Achieving that mission will require more than one organization. It will require collaboration among maritime, engineering, nuclear, historical, educational, philanthropic, governmental, and preservation communities.
Opportunities to Partner
FAST welcomes conversations with individuals, companies, foundations, institutions, and public-sector partners interested in supporting the future of NS Savannah preservation and education.
Potential opportunities may include:
- Sponsorship of educational programs, public lectures, exhibits, or digital interpretation
- Support for historical research, archival work, documentation, and oral histories
- Technical, engineering, maritime, preservation, legal, insurance, fundraising, or nonprofit governance expertise
- Corporate or foundation support for organizational development and preservation planning
- Partnerships with museums, universities, schools, maritime organizations, historical societies, and technical associations
- Volunteer engagement, public outreach, communications, and community-building support
- Support for future planning related to stewardship, access, interpretation, and long-term sustainability
Why Support FAST
The NS Savannah represents a unique intersection of American maritime history, nuclear technology, engineering achievement, Cold War public diplomacy, and mid-century design. Preserving and interpreting that legacy offers an unusual opportunity to educate the public about a vessel that was both a working merchant ship and a national technological demonstration.
FAST’s goal is to help build the organizational, financial, technical, and public-support foundation needed for responsible long-term preservation and interpretation.
Sponsorship and Recognition
FAST anticipates opportunities for sponsors and major supporters to be recognized in appropriate ways connected to educational programs, public materials, digital exhibits, events, preservation initiatives, or other mission-related activities.
Specific sponsorship opportunities, recognition terms, and donor arrangements will be developed as FAST’s programs and preservation planning mature. All support must be consistent with FAST’s charitable, educational, preservation, and public-history purposes.
Let’s Talk
FAST is interested in hearing from potential partners, sponsors, donors, advisors, volunteers, and institutions that share an interest in preserving and interpreting the legacy of NS Savannah.
